How does the Pepper Spray work?Pepper Spray should be sprayed into the attackers eyes. This causes a response of the eyes to close. The Pepper Spray causes severe skin irritation and burning for approximately 45 to 60 minutes without permanent damage.
When should I use Pepper Spray?Use Pepper Spray ONLY for personal protection when you feel your life is in danger.
*Note* There are determined attackers, especially under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, who may not feel the effects as easily as a normal person. We recommend that after spraying your assailant, you either flee immediately to safety, or launch a counter-attack that will render them utterly defenseless. It is against the law to use Pepper Spray in a crime!
Can I find pepper sprays for animals?Yes, we have Mace brand "Muzzle" spray which is a diluted strength, and is very effective on dogs.
Mace and Guard Alaska both produce a superior 20% OC blend for use on bears.
What is the Pepper Spray made of or contain?The most common amount is 10% Oleo Capsicum Pepper. This is food grade "red" pepper. There are various strengths like
"Michigan Approved" blends and
18% Wildfire pepper spray.
What is the expiration date of Pepper Spray?Since the Pepper Spray is made from "Food Grade Red Pepper" there is no expiration date.
